Cooperstown Emergency Squad

Cooperstown Emergency Squad -

Proudly Celebrating 50 Years of Volunteer Service

Since 1970, the Cooperstown Emergency Squad has provided emergency care and transport to the greater Cooperstown area, including portions of the towns of Otsego, Exeter, Middlefield, Springfield and the Village of Cooperstown.

Assisting nearly 1000 patients annually, the Squad operates on funds from the Village of Cooperstown, it's contract townships, and donations from the community.

24 volunteer EMTs, Advanced EMTs and Paramedics provide Basic & Advanced Life Support.  Working with the Cooperstown Fire Department and other local fire departments, the Squad provides Wildland Rescue, Automobile Extrication, Firefighter Rehab, and other EMS services.  The Squad is the primary transport agency for the Bassett Medical Center Helipad on Susquehanna Avenue, providing ambulance transport for helicopter patients to and from the ER.

Squad members must maintain a current CPR card, and are encouraged to pursue further training provided at no cost by the Squad through the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services.
